Trainee Vulcanizer/Fitter

As part of our ongoing expansion, C&K Fitzpatrick is recruiting for the next generation of conveyor engineers. We have a well designed training programme developing new team members in-house before progressing to on-site service. During this time you will gain skills and experience working with conveyor belting and in a wide range of customer sites. Upon completion of the training programme candidates will move to the full service team working on an attractive 4 on 4 off shift system.

The chosen Trainees can expect to achieve qualifications in Safe Equipment use, C Class Driving Licence, Welding and Light Fabrication. Successful completion of the Trainee Program, will open up a Full Time Career path with benefits including Travel Allowance, Bonus, Health Insurance and Pension options.

The Trainee Vulcanizer/Fitter will join an experienced in-house team in fabricating conveyor belts and carrying out site installations for clients throughout Ireland. Initially, the role will focus on internal manufacturing activities. The successful candidates will progress to the field teams on completion of their internal training.

You will work as part of a team and independently as required. Full training on specialized skills in vulcanizing and associated tasks will be provided in order to assist your career progression.

The main duties and responsibilities are: -

• Fabrication of Conveyor belting in our workshop.
• Fitting & Vulcanizing of conveyor belting on-site.
• Carrying our repairs to conveyor belting on site.
• Acquire a complete knowledge of our product range.
• Installation of Conveyor belt Cleaners.
• Steel Fabrication & repairs to conveyors.
• Conveyor maintenance tasks (bearing changes, belt tracking, problem-solving).
• To observe and comply with the company safety regulations and any further regulations encountered at customer sites.

The Ideal Profile:

Applicants should be: -

• Have some form of Mechanical Experience and, ideally, service experience.
• Experience of Quarry, Mining or Recycling industries desirable
• Physically able to lift & carry.
• Good dexterity skills.
• Quick learner with good attention to detail.
• Fluent in spoken & written English.
• Good PC Skills.
