We offer a complete package of parts and service which allows us to fully guarantee our products and ensure correct fitting.
We have improved upon the standard vulcanising service traditionally offered, providing a full conveyor maintenance package. This allows one team to go to site strip the conveyor, carryout repairs to the conveyor, fit and vulcanise the belt and then leave everything in a condition “ready to run”. Our engineers are also trained to spot potential problems and can offer advice to prevent damage to the belt or the conveyor.
Health and Safety has been put at the core of our on-site service. Our engineers are trained to SafePass and Quarry Passport standards, along with this they use a custom designed Safe System of Work Plan to evaluate and communicate the risks involved before starting any job.
Vulcanising
High quality belting and a high level of service on site go hand in hand. Any belt fitted incorrectly can become and ongoing expense in time and money.
We have designed our vulcanizing service around total knowledge of the conveyor. Our vulcanisers are fully trained fitters with experience to spot potential problems and are flexible enough to either fix the problem there and then or flag the problem on the job to arrange to have solution put in place.
Our vulcanisers have been taken from the conveyor maintenance field and have been highly trained in vulcanising and conveyor safety. They can “get the job done” even in adverse conditions while never sacrificing safety or quality. Our crews work out of mobile workshops with metal cutting and welding and day-to-day spares always available on site. They have the latest equipment for vulcanising ensuring job is completed efficiently and reliably.
We have also got the experience to vulcanise specialised belts including UsFlex, heat resistant, oil resistant belting, fire resistant and extra wear resistant belting. Using original jointing packs from Dunlop we can ensure that these specialised joints are as reliable and to the same specification as the original belt.
Belt Fastener Fitting
Not every machine allows for a belt to be vulcanised, and clipping gives you the fastest possible method of getting up and running again. Once properly installed fasteners will offer a reliable long-lasting joint.
Our fitters can assess each application to specify and fit the correct fastener every time, choosing from the wide range of Flexco fasteners and giving you the flexibility of using the whole range without having to buy the installation tools. In addition, we can also carry out more complex clipped joints with countersunk clips, bias joints and clips vulcanised into the belt.
Repairs can be made to any existing belt and depending upon the application they can be carried out with fasteners, cold vulcanised or hot vulcanised. Our vulcanisers are capable of accurately assessing the damage to the belt and proceeding with an appropriate repair which will extend the life of the belt and perform reliably.
Note: The Flexco range of belt fasteners includes several alternatives for use with Metal Detectors. However, these are largely based upon the detector being ferrous based. If the detector picks-up all metals the only solution is to vulcanise, which we can carry out on-site.
A poorly fitted scraper rapidly becomes an on-going problem. Modern cleaners have very specific tolerances for installation locations. If they are simply fitted where the last unit was or where it is convenient, it can lead to incorrect blade wear, poor cleaning results and even damage to the unit itself.
Our fitters have been trained by the manufacturers and have gained experience by regularly fitting our scraper range in a wide range of conveyor applications. They can assess the situation, fabricate any parts needed and install the cleaner according to manufacturer’s specifications. If the cleaner cannot be installed correctly, we can advise modifications or suggest a different cleaner, but the cleaner will not be installed in the wrong position.
Fitting the scraper is only half of the job: Initially the scraper requires a spot check after 1-2 weeks and then periodically after that. So many scrapers are installed and not maintained, and they may work well initially but then as the blade wears out and adjustments are not made their performance suffers. This often results in an expensive scraper unit replacement when replacement tips could have solved the problem. We can operate a range of services in scraper maintenance from “pay per call” maintenance visits to complete fitting and service contracts. These packages ensure that the scrapers perform to their full capability reducing the costs associated with clean up, poor tracking, belt damage and scraper damage which all follow from poor cleaner maintenance.
