C&K Fitzpatrick, Ireland’s leading supplier of conveyor belting, is looking for highly motivated candidates for a new expansion to our service offering. The successful candidate will be chosen to work as part of a small team working on a 4 days on 4 days off basis.

Purpose of the Role


Fitters are responsible for providing a high standard of service to our customers on site. Works should be carried out in a timely manner with the ability to work well under pressure in emergency situations. Fitters are also responsible for adhering to on-site safety rules for both CKF and the customer’s site.  


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Always accommodate customers’ requirements as far as possible with regard to the time of works carried out and standards.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and quality with all CKF Service offerings
  • Deal with complaints and rectify errors to customers’ satisfaction
  • Carry out on-site installation of conveyor belts and associated products to a high standard
  • Maintain full conveyor systems as specified in maintenance contracts
  • Assess conveyor problems and identify solutions within the CKF Range
  • Identify further works applicable to CKF whilst on the customer’s premises
  • Remain On-Call and available within 30mins during agreed times
  • Log works onto the CKF online database where it is in use.
  • Regular inspections of equipment and maintenance of this equipment
  • Report any repairs or testing required for equipment to the team leader
  • Maintain a consistently high standard of security with CKF property & Tools
  • Identify any improvements or efficiencies and carry out research or testing to achieve these benefits.
  • Return to the CKF Premises for production works if no site works are available
  • Liaise with outside contractors who may assist or provide cover for CKF services.
  • Communicate any PPE Requirements to team leader
  • Attendance at Safety training as required
  • Identify new customers and occasional calls to prospect for further works
  • Assisting management in time/cost estimates for various projects and maintenance contracts
  • Survey of Sites and entering of full clear details into the CKF online database




This role will largely be based on customers’ sites travelling from Emo in Co Laois. Applicants should be within easy commuting distance of Emo and our base in Castlewarden, Co Kildare.


  • Strong Mechanical aptitude, with 2 years’ + Experience of mechanical plant/machinery (ideally in conveyors) in a heavy-duty environment e.g. quarrying/recycling.
  • A full, clean driving licence with Class C is an advantage
  • Current SafePass and Manual Handling required. Further safety training certificates, while not essential, would be an advantage including one or more of the following
    • Working at Height,
    • Abrasive Wheels,
    • Manual Handling,
    • MEWP
    • Teleporter.
  • Qualifications in metal cutting or welding would be an advantage
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, including the confidence to communicate appropriately with colleagues and to work well with colleagues and customers
  • Strong customer focus; experience of customer relations and dealing with complaints efficiently; referring complaints where necessary
  • Proven experience of maintaining high quality standards
  • Proven experience of maintaining systems to meet customer requirements or similar work
  • A good knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety requirements in on-site &  workshop settings
  • Experience of following clear safety guidelines and safe practices
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Completion of all work to company and customer standards is essential
  • Experience of assessing faults, problem-solving and bringing about satisfactory solutions
  • Good computer skills. Experience of using databases would be an advantage.
  • Flexibility and adaptability are required, for example in order to complete tasks.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are important for this job, particularly when it comes to following instructions from the Lead Fitter meeting customer requirements.
